Design
In the first phase one or more sample spreadsheets are passed on the input of DataDefractor Solo. With the help of DataDefractor Mapping Wizard, the user defines a dimensional model and a data mapping schema based on the sample set of worksheets.2
Process
In the second phase the previously designed mapping schema is used by DataDefractor Normalization Engine to parse and convert unlimited number of similar input spreadsheets into structured data models.3
Output
The output of DataDefractor is either a flattened recordset CSV file or a set of CSV files in the form of a standard star schema.Load
The output generated by DataDefractor Solo is “loading friendly”. It can be consumed by any data warehouse or business intelligence system.
DataDefractor Solo™ is the ETL-independent edition of DataDefractor. Unlike DataDefractor SSIS, DataDefractor Solo runs as a standalone Windows application which converts complex business spreadsheets into structured data marts stored in the form of portable flat-file CSV files.
